Award Winning!!! GWC-AU Student WEA is an Award Winning Chapter. Thanks to their abilities and efforts, the value of your Chapter and your credential of earning an education at Aurora University is increased! Click Here for more pics. Our Mission Statement To support public education for all students and the continuation of a strong professional association, the mission of the Student WEA is to provide its members a voice in matters affecting their education and careers by offering opportunities for leadership, professional growth and involvement at the local, state, and national levels. What is Student WEA? The Student Wisconsin Education Association is a pre-professional organization for students who are preparing for the teaching profession. The Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC) and its student program help lead education majors to a brighter future. The student program exists to help you make a smooth transition from the campus to the classroom to help you get the edge as a teacher in those very important first years. Although your university does a great job preparing you to assume your institutional responsibilities, very few programs are offered which explore the critical non-instructional aspects of the profession. This is where Student WEA comes in to supplement your formal education. We help you learn about salaries, discipline, certification requirements and current issues in the profession. Student WEA is made up of nearly 2,000 university students across Wisconsin and is part of the 51,000 member National Education Association Student Program (NEA-SP) |
